We collect limited information necessary to provide and improve Burrow. This includes your approximate location to show stories within a 10-mile radius, a device identifier to prevent spam and maintain voting integrity, the anonymous stories you share, and general usage analytics to help us improve the app. All information is anonymized, securely stored, and never tied to your personal identity.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to deliver core features of Burrow, such as showing local content, enabling voting, preventing spam, and improving performance. We do not collect personal details like names or emails, and we never sell or share your information with third parties except where required by law. Stories automatically expire and are deleted after 48 hours to ensure that your contributions remain ephemeral and anonymous.
Data Storage and Security
All data is encrypted and stored securely on servers managed by Supabase, our backend provider. We do not permanently store location information or any identifiers that could link back to you. Our infrastructure undergoes regular updates and reviews to ensure your data remains protected at all times.
Your Rights and Choices
Burrow is designed to be truly anonymous. You may stop using the app at any time or disable location services, though the app will not function without it. Because we do not collect personal identifiers, we cannot retrieve or delete specific user data. If you have concerns about your privacy, you may contact us directly at privacy@burrowapp.co.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in how Burrow operates. Any significant changes will be communicated through the app, and the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. By continuing to use Burrow, you agree to the updated terms.
